Day 01: Singapore – Kathmandu (Meals on Board)

Depart from Singapore for Kathmandu. Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Check in and relax after your journey. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

After breakfast, begin your guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu. Visit Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, a 2,500-year-old Buddhist stupa perched atop a hillock. This UNESCO World Heritage Site (listed in 1979) offers breathtaking panoramic views of Kathmandu Valley and is especially renowned for its beautiful sunset vistas.

Next, explore the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square (Hanuman Dhoka), a UNESCO World Heritage Site showcasing ancient palaces, temples, and courtyards. If you are fortunate, you may catch a glimpse of Nepal’s revered Living Goddess, Kumari.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant near your hotel. Afterward, drive to Nagarkot, a hilltop village famous for its scenic Himalayan views. Dinner and overnight stay in Nagarkot.

Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the Himalayas from your hotel balcony—each room offers spectacular mountain views. After breakfast, take some time to stroll around the scenic hilltop, soaking in the fresh mountain air and panoramic vistas.

In the late afternoon, drive back to Kathmandu. En route, visit Boudhanath Stupa, the largest stupa in Asia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, revered for its spiritual significance and striking architecture.

In the evening, enjoy a traditional Nepalese dinner accompanied by a cultural show, showcasing local music and dance. Overnight stay at your hotel in Kathmandu.

After breakfast, transfer to Kathmandu Airport for your flight to Paro, Bhutan. Upon arrival at Paro Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan.

After lunch at your hotel, visit Buddha Point (Kushal Phodrang), home to the gigantic Shakyamuni Buddha statue. Perched on a hilltop, this monumental statue overlooks Thimphu Valley and offers panoramic views, making it one of Bhutan’s most iconic landmarks.

Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Thimphu.

After breakfast, drive to Punakha, passing through the scenic Dochula Pass, which offers panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain ranges. The pass is adorned with 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens (stupas) built by the Queen, creating a truly picturesque setting. On a clear day, enjoy stunning views of the snow-capped Himalayas.

Upon arrival, take a short hike to Chimi Lhakhang (Temple), known as the Temple of Fertility. The gentle walk takes you through charming farmhouses and the vast, verdant plains of rice fields, offering an authentic glimpse of rural Bhutanese life.

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Punakha.

After breakfast, embark on a day excursion to Phobjikha Valley (Gangtey), a stunning bowl-shaped glacial valley on the western slopes of the Black Mountains, bordering Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park.

Phobjikha is one of Bhutan’s most important wildlife preserves, famous as the winter habitat for the endangered black-necked cranes. The valley and surrounding hills are also home to a variety of wildlife, including muntjacs (barking deer), wild boars, sambars, serows, Himalayan black bears, leopards, and red foxes, making it a haven for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts.

Return to Punakha in the evening for dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.

After breakfast, drive back to Thimphu. Begin your sightseeing with a visit to the Memorial Chorten, a large Tibetan-style stupa that is one of the most prominent religious landmarks in the capital and holds deep significance for the Bhutanese people.

Next, visit a traditional handmade paper factory, where you can observe the centuries-old Bhutanese craft of papermaking. After lunch, proceed to Simply Bhutan – The Living Museum, an interactive cultural experience where you can learn about Bhutanese traditions, participate in the national sport of archery, and sample local delicacies such as butter tea and the traditional Bhutanese wine, ARA.

Continue your drive to Paro, where you will check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Today is a special day dedicated to the optional Tiger’s Nest (Taktsang Monastery) hike. After breakfast, enjoy a short drive to Satsam Chorten, the starting point of your hike. From here, it’s a 2–3 hour walk to the viewpoint of Taktsang Monastery, Bhutan’s most famous and iconic monastery.

Perched dramatically on the edge of a 1,200-meter cliff, Taktsang is believed to be the meditation site of Guru Rinpoche, who flew here on the back of a tigress, giving the monastery its popular name, “Tiger’s Nest.” The breathtaking setting and spiritual significance make it an unforgettable experience.

If time permits, enjoy some leisure at Paro Town Shopping Street. For those opting to ride, horses or ponies are available at a minimum charge of US$80, payable directly to the local guide. Note: Comfortable shoes or hiking boots are recommended for this hike.

Return to your hotel in Paro for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, enjoy a short drive to Paro International Airport for your onward flight back to Singapore, taking with you unforgettable memories of Bhutan—the Land of Happiness.
