Upon arrival, the rest of the expedition crew for Mera Peak will meet you, and the trek begins. The route gradually ascends through thick forests of silver fir, birch, rhododendron, and pine, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

Overnight stay in Chutang (3,020 m).

  • Today’s trek involves a challenging ascent as we climb the Kalo Himal Ridge in the Nau Lekh range. Crossing the ridge leads us into the Hinku Valley, leaving behind the Khumbu Valley and entering a region of untouched Himalayan wilderness.

The trail is steep in sections and passes by ancient Buddhist chortens, offering both spiritual and cultural glimpses along the route. This day combines physical challenge with breathtaking high-altitude scenery, preparing the team for higher elevations ahead.

The trek follows a rocky trail near the river for the first section, then transitions into a steady and gradual climb up the valley, offering spectacular Himalayan scenery at every turn.

Although the route is non-technical, the thinning air at high altitude requires careful pacing and frequent rest. The ascent from High Camp to the summit typically takes 4 to 6 hours, depending on conditions and acclimatization. Once on top, climbers are rewarded with panoramic views of five 8,000-meter peaks: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and Kangchenjunga—a truly unforgettable Himalayan experience.
